About Allegheny College
Founded in 1815, Allegheny College is a selective residential college of the
liberal arts and sciences, noted for attracting students with unique
combinations of interests, skills and talents.
Allegheny College is one of the nation's best institutions for undergraduate
education, according to the Princeton Review. The New York-based education
services company features the college in “The Best 361 Colleges,” the 2006
edition of its annual best colleges guide.
Only about 15 percent of the four-year colleges in the United States and two

categories.

students surveyed at the schools. Among the student comments in Allegheny's
profile, one notes that the college's professors “…are not only personally

not you fall behind in class or are having a personal problem.”
Another student notes, “Allegheny's strengths are its ample amounts of
