The Days Inn brand was created in 1970.Days Inns of America Inc., began
franchising hotels in 1972 and within eight years created a system of more than
300 hotels in the United States and Canada.
In 1992 Cendant Corporation, then Hospitality Franchise Systems Inc., acquired
the chain. Days Inns of America became Days Inns Worldwide effective March 31,
2000, to reflect its increasing
international presence.
