London WC2 is the post-code of
Covent Garden and Holborn.
It contains two of the world's most famous open spaces in Leicester
Square (hosting film premieres) and Trafalgar Square (home of Nelsons Column & scene of
many a political rally - home of London's pigeons). Half of Chinatown
is also in London WC2.
Centre Point Tower at St. Giles' Circus, the RAF church of St. Clement
Danes on the Strand, the "Queen Mary" and the "Tattershall Castle" boat pubs
on the River Thames and the
luxury of the Savoy Hotel.
Covent Garden is a place to hang out and watch the street
performers. The Transport and Theatre Museums and the Royal Opera
House are also here.
London WC2 is the heart of Theatreland, with the London Coliseum and
the Royal Opera House and the regular west End Theatres showing
musicals or plays.
Charing Cross Station is one of London's greatest railway stations.
Wherever you see a road sign with a mileage to London, it is to Charing
Cross that it is measured.
