Glossop is a market town in the Borough of High Peak,
Derbyshire, England.
Glossop lies about 21 km (13 miles) east of the City of
Manchester and 39 km (24 miles)
west of the City of Sheffield
via the famous Snake Pass. Glossop is close to Derbyshire's borders with
both South Yorkshire and Greater Manchester.
Glossop is described as "the gateway to the Peak District National Park" as
it is surrounded by some of the most magnificent scenery of the Peak District.
