The
airport here has a long history that can be traced back to 1905. Along
time, domestic and international destinations have served this airport,
but its infrastructure has been destroyed completely during the Second
World War. The new runway and airport buildings have been built in 1969,
and a new terminal building has been added in 2001. The airport has only
received international status in 2003.
